- ◾ 최근 시크릿 스모크하우스社(Secret Smokehouse)는 육상에서 양식된 훈제 연어 제품을 영국 시장에 최초로 출시함
- 동社가 연어를 매입한 육상 양식장은 해수를 취수하여 수조 수(水)로 사용하는 플로우 스루 시스템(flow-through system)을 적용함
- 시크릿 스모크하우스社에서 출시한 육상 양식 훈제 연어는 판매가 모두 완료되었으며, 앞으로 지속적으로 해당 연어 제품 판매를 확대할 예정임
- 동 社는 현재 건립 중인 타 양식장 등으로 물량 공급처를 확대할 예정임
◾ 현재까지 육상 양식 연어 생산량은 미미한 수준이나, 더 많은 육상 양식장이 건립 중에 있어 육상 양식 연어 공급 규모가 확대될 것으로 예상됨
- 현재 플로우 스루 시스템으로 적정 규모의 연어를 생산하는 기업은 노르웨이에 기반한 Andfjord社, Salmon Evolution社가 대표적임
- 시장 분석 업체인 Kontali社에 따르면 2025년 육상 양식 연어 생산량은 약 5만 톤이 될 것으로 추정함
