(전 세계 해양공간계획을 가속화하기 위한 MSP 공동 로드맵 마련)
이 로드맵은 UN기구 및 회원국들과 협력을 위해 앞으로 MSP 추진을 위해 이행되어야 할 공통 과제를 제안하였다. 이것은 2017년 3월 15~17일에 개최된 제2차 해양공간계획 국제 컨퍼런스의 실질적인 성과이다.
이 컨퍼런스의 주목적은 최초 국제 MSP 회의가 있은지 십년이 지난 후 MSP 현황을 검토하고 2017년 이후 여러 가지 전지구적 해양문제를 해결하기 위한 방법을 모색하는 것이였다. 그 성과는 예상을 훨씬 뛰어 넘는 결과를 가져왔으며, 해양과 바다를 보전하고 보다 지속가능한 방법으로 활용하기 위한 방안을 찾고, 부문 간 조치를 취할 준비가 된 계획자 및 이해관계자의 국제적인 의지를 확인하였다.
참가자들은 공동 과제와 국경 간 협력에 대해 공감하였고, UNESCO IOC와 DG MARE는 MSP 로드맵을 통해 중요한 정치적 약속(political commitment)을 제안했다. 이 로드맵은 UNESCO IOC 와 DG MARE에 의해 SDG 14 유엔 회의 (2017년 6월 5-9일)에 제출되어 2030년 의제의 이행에 MSP의 기여를 강조할 계획이다.
