      오클랜드 항만은 2009년 대기질 향상 계획을 수립한 이후, 디젤 배출량은 76%감소, 선박 배출가스 배출량은 76% 감소했다. 이 계획은 2020년에 만료되며, 향후 10년 동안 컨테이너화물 작업으로 인한 배출량을 줄이기 위한 계획을 갱신할 예정이다. 새로운 계획에는 배출가스가 거의 없는 장비 및 관련 소프트웨어에 대한 투자가 들어가 배출량을 더욱 억제할 것으로 보인다.
