- 해당 협약의 목적은 바다에서 유실·유기·폐기되는 어망을 수거하여 해양을 청소하고 새로운 부가가치를 창출함과 동시에 이와 관련한 탄소 발자국을 줄이는 것임
- ALPESCAS의 회원국인 아르헨티나, 우루과이, 브라질, 콜롬비아 등은 6차에 걸친 온라인 회의를 통하여 협약에 서명함
