      Arctic coastal states and 5 cooperating nations including Rep. of Korea is discussing on the development of interim measures to prevent unregulated fishing in the Central Arctic Ocean. Based on the current available scientific information, commercial fishing is unlikely to occur in the near future, but the meetings reaffirmed the importance of precautionary approach and improving scientific understanding on the arctic ocean. Negotiation is still going on whether it's going to be binding or non-binding agreement, and how joint scientific research program will be conducted.
