Call for Submissions | Winter 2026 Issue 

Ocean Policy Research is now accepting manuscript submissions for its upcoming Winter 2026 issue (Vol. 41, No. 2).

Published by the Korea Maritime Institute (KMI) and indexed by the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), Ocean Policy Research is Korea's only peer-reviewed journal covering ocean policy, maritime law, and the shipping and port industry. International submissions are warmly welcomed.

1. Topics of interest

Submissions are welcome on all topics related to maritime affairs, including but not limited to: ocean policy and environment, shipping and logistics, port management, fisheries, marine tourism, maritime territory (including Dokdo), and Arctic Ocean affairs.

2. Eligibility

Submissions are open to experts with an interest in maritime-related fields such as shipping, ports, and fisheries, including university faculty members, graduate students, and researchers at research institutions.

3. Submission method

Manuscripts must be submitted via the journal website at https://kmi.jams.or.kr. Authors must complete membership registration and obtain approval prior to submission. The following documents are required at the time of submission:

• Research Ethics Pledge and Ethics Checklist

4. Manuscript length

Approximately 20 pages (A4), with an English abstract of approximately 200 words.

5. Submission deadline

31 October 2026 (Saturday)

* Please note that manuscripts submitted after this date will be received and processed for the Summer 2027 issue.

6. Publication date

31 December 2026

7. Additional information

 • Authors must use the official manuscript template available on the journal website.

• No publication fee is charged.

• Submitted manuscripts must be original works that have not been previously published in, or are not currently under consideration by, any other journal or publication.

• Submitted manuscripts undergo anonymous review by three field experts selected by KMI, and only those accepted will be published.
